  •  Funding Opportunity

California Apprenticeship Initiative High Road Training

Partnership Grant

The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office is pleased to announce the availability of funding for phase one of a two-phase CAI grant. Phase one is a short-term planning grant to expand on existing High Road Training Partnerships (HRTP), an initiative and framework for industry-led regional partnerships developed by the California Workforce Development Board (CWDB). Each grantee may receive up to $125,000.

Purpose:

In this first phase, community colleges already participating in a CWDB-funded HRTP may apply for funds to strengthen and advance existing HRTPs.  In addition, community colleges who are not already participating in a CWDB-funded HRTP in their region who wish to do so may also apply.  Besides strengthening and advancing community colleges’ participation in existing HRTPs, the planning grant phase is intended to be used to plan for phase two of the RFA, which will provide funds for the direct implementation of new and innovative apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs based on needs identified by the HRTP as part of phase one.
