Dear Apprenticeship Community of Practice,
The Apprenticeship Team is excited to share our June newsletter with the community and hopes you will find the resources informative and applicable to your respective scopes of work. In this issue’s In Case You Missed It section, you will find the recording of the May 26 webinar hosted by the California Community College Chancellor's Office Workforce and Economic Development Division. During the webinar, presenters focused on the May revision of the FY 21-22 State Budget with a high-level overview of the workforce and economic development funding, future funding opportunities related to the California Apprenticeship Initiative, and High Road Training Partnerships.
Our Tips From the Field section includes two great webinars covering topics such as supporting students’ basic needs and apprenticeship programs doing great work in their respective regions. In addition, readers will find a report on The Bookshelf by Jobs for the Future (JFF) titled “America’s Opportunity Youth Deserve an Equitable Economic Recovery,” which provides recommendations outlining solutions that will create strong bridges between education and employment for young people. Additionally, we have included the American Jobs Plan factsheet recently released by the current administration. The factsheet highlights several key areas the American Jobs Plan hopes to address, including supporting women in employment.
Finally, check out our Announcements section for news on upcoming events and other happenings in the apprenticeship ecosystem.
As the state slowly reopens and as a community, we continue to strategize on the path forward to get our respective communities back to work; we encourage our community of practice members to stay connected to workforce and education news at a state and federal level. We look forward to connecting again soon.
Until next month and with care,
Apprenticeship Support Network Team
